RS3 Insurance

Postby Knobby » Mon Oct 08, 2012 2:26 pm

Hi Guys

Who does everyone insure their RS3's with? I am currently with Tesco's until my policy expires. I would like to go with someone who is of course competitive and will accept mods. Nothing major, would like a remap and the bypass pipe just want to make sure I am fully insured.

Cheers

Dave

Just done mine with Privilege but Admiral was competitive too.

Had been advised Greenlight were good for modded cars so I gave them a go for the RS3... They told me that their underwriters won't insure at the value of the RS3!!! Pathetic!

Greenlight, Sky and HIC I believe have a minimum charge for this type of car..

I got a great deal with Privilege at £288 for the year ... I will be sticking with them at that price I hope. I don't plan any mods so that's no problem. Just looking at GAP insurance now ... best quotes seem to be around £200 for 4 years cover.

That is cheap... Wow, I will speak to them at renewal. Trouble is the misses is 27 so she still keeps the premium high..

I paid £179 for 3 years cover with a 25k Limit for return to invoice GAP.. Contact details below. Let me know if you are going to speak to them and i'll mention you are going to call.

Me and the Mrs have both just edged over 50

It seems to have made a big difference to car insurance (not just the RS3). The RS3 is no more (in fact it maybe a touch less) than the Golf R !

Just looking at insurance again and Greenlight wouldn't cover a car of this value. Strange hey.

Looks like I will be going the Admiral route.
